Tis the night before

Tis the night before Christmas... as my wife and I get ready to sit down for our Christmas Eve tradition - a soft candlelight romantic dinner of tater tots, and a good old holiday B horror movie - I just wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays!!! And if you are wondering, this year's movie is Christmas Evil.

Milwaukee bike plan needs your support.

Milwaukee by Bike, the city of Milwaukee's 2010 Bicycle Master Plan, would add more than 200 miles of new bicycle facilities in the city. The plan will be reviewed by the Public Safety committee on Thursday, September 16 at 9:00AM in Room 301-B of City Hall. It is then scheduled for a Common Council vote on September 21.

If you live or bike in Milwaukee, please attend the Public Safety meeting to voice your support for this plan. You can also show your support by emailing, writing or calling your alder person and telling them that Milwaukee by Bike is good for Milwaukee, Talking points are available here and a sample letter/email for your alder person is available here. You can read the complete plan at www.milwaukeeplan.bfw.org.

Save the TURF

As many BMXers and Skateboarders now in their 30's or 40's know, THE TURF was my home away from home.
Now, after 15 years, the DOT has unearthed the skate park as part of a road project on HWY 894. When the project is over, the DOT is planing on turning the land (and bowls) back over to the city of Greenfield. Many skaters are trying to SAVE THE TRUF. For more info or to just show your support, check out these facebook links.

Save the Truf is also doing a benefit show at the Cactus Club on Sep. 10, 2010 w/ Call me Lightning, Get Rad & No Future
